Activities at the Anson Cabin Project

This year at the Anson Cabin Project we have lots of entertaining, educational
and fun things to do for everyone. Here are some of them:

For the young ones & Teens

We still have all our regular play sessions but this year we have an exciting new series of elemental play sessions:

Air: Kite making and flying, creating hovercrafts and inflatable games.
Earth: clay and sand structures compost and planting, bug hunting, visiting play builder sites and recycling.
Fire: making camp fires, Chinese lanterns, candle making, solar toys and cooking.
Water: kinetic energy constructions, swimming, boat-making and canoeing.

We are recruiting for the Children’s Board and youth forum. We need more children and young people to take part.

And don’t forget we have the Children and young peoples accredited training. This includes Adventure Service Challenge Scheme for 8-14 year olds, leadership skills and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award training.

We will also be providing peer mentoring and support training for over 14’s.

We are currently offering the bronze level Duke of Edinburgh Award.

For the older ones

for the older ones we provide issue based training and workshops , these certificates were part of an end knife crime campaign and the street doctors supported this particular session with first aid training.

For families

At the moment we have two activities planned – a Diamond Jubilee street parade and party on the 5th June and a mini Olympics during the summer. We will be organising more events soon so please go to www.ansoncabin.co.uk for the latest events.

Fancy a breath of fresh air?

We are arranging five outings to rural settings for country walks this year. So if you like the idea of a ramble or a trip to a country park? If so please get in touch.

Open to all ages.

Anyone up for volunteering?

We are looking for volunteers of all ages for our street team. The team will tackle issues such as litter picks, recycling, gardening and planting.
